Integrated Electromechanical Water Management Project
This project represents a fully integrated electromechanical water management installation, with Aqua Genesi undertaking the engineering, supply, construction, installation and integration of the individual plant-room systems into a single coordinated infrastructure.
At the heart of the installation is a seawater reverse osmosis desalination system with a capacity of up to 70 m³/day and energy recovery capability. The system was engineered to combine high production capacity, reliable operation and substantially reduced energy requirements. Under the energy recovery operating configuration, the design power requirement of the high-pressure pump is reduced from 15 kW to 8 kW.
The desalination unit incorporates four Nitto membranes, automatic membrane flushing, antiscalant dosing and conditioning of the produced water through pH and hardness adjustment. Operation is fully automated through a Siemens industrial programmable logic controller and a 7-inch Delta touch display, providing continuous monitoring of pressures, conductivity, operating hours, tank levels and alarm conditions.
The scope of the project extended far beyond desalination. Twin Wilo booster systems were integrated for domestic water supply and landscape irrigation, incorporating high-efficiency motors and dedicated operating controls. A complete firefighting water supply arrangement was also incorporated, with two available water sources and automated source-priority management.
Particular attention was given to the engineering of the plant room itself. Pipe routing was designed to ensure efficient operation, accessibility and a clean technical layout, supported by stainless-steel mounting systems, dedicated seawater and domestic-water networks, safety valves and complete automation infrastructure. Acoustic treatment and anti-vibration mounting were also incorporated to reduce noise and vibration generated by the mechanical equipment.
A key feature of the project is the centralized management of all major systems. The desalination plant, storage tanks, booster systems and firefighting network were integrated into a central control platform with an 11-inch industrial touch display. Operating parameters, alarms, tank levels and energy consumption can be monitored centrally, while key system settings can also be adjusted through the same interface. The architecture was designed to support future expansion and integration with additional building-management systems.
The installation is complemented by a 3 kW photovoltaic system with 5 kWh of energy storage, supporting the overall energy-efficiency strategy of the project.
The result is a modern, fully integrated plant room in which water production, storage, distribution and control operate as one coordinated system.
This project reflects Aqua Genesi's engineering philosophy in practice: desalination is not treated as a stand-alone machine, but as part of a complete technical solution. Engineering, hydraulic networks, pumping, automation, control and energy management are brought together to deliver reliability, efficiency and a high standard of installation.
